Vernon Food Pantry
This is an interdenominational ministry focused on helping to feed and clothe those in need. Many local churches and businesses come together to support this vital ministry. Lamar county is one of Alabama’s most underprivileged counties, so the need for this ministry is great. The Vernon Food Pantry serves some approx 200 families each month. Food distribution occurs on Tuesday's.
Grace Filled Recovery
Life is filled with challenges. Sometimes these challenges lead us into spiritually and physically unhealthy behaviors. This ministry focuses on helping people effectively deal with a wide variety of issues from depression, anxiety, divorce, death of loved one, and alcohol and/or substance abuse. We meet every Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall, entrance is on the side door next to our parking lot. Friendship Circle & Sewing
Our women’s group gathers once a month to make “port pillows.” These pillows are small and specially designed to help those receiving chemotherapy through a port in the chest. The pillows help cushion the tubing for patients. To date, the Women’s Circle has donated over 3,000 pillows to local cancer treatment centers. This group serves medical facilities in Alabama and Mississippi.
Monthly Church Breakfast
If you like fellowship, cooking, or serving others then this is a good place for you. Our monthly church breakfast is well attended. We need help cooking, serving, cleaning up, and eating of course!
